Welcome!

We believe God has called VCF to be not just "church as usual" but a place where God's restoration of humanity can occur. We understand all aspects of Jesus' good news of the Kingdom in terms of restoration:

* Worship and the Word restores our relationship with God.
* Discipleship restores our knowledge and understanding of God.
* Physical, emotional and spiritual healing restores our wholeness in God.
* Serving the community restores our towns and neighborhoods for God.
* Missions restore our world for God.

Think of this idea of restoring a person's "spiritual dwelling place" as being analogous to the restoration of a house. It recognizes that like most people's houses, everyone's spiritual dwelling place is in some state of disrepair. In other words, at some level we are all searching for meaning in our lives. But as a result of our cultural and societal worldview which constantly reminds us to be self-sufficient, we frequently try to repair our own spiritual dwellings.

Like a homeowner with a leaky house who goes off to Home Depot, we go to whatever 'store' seems right in order to repair our spiritual ‘leak.' But often we don't realize that our leak is the result of a larger problem with the foundation. Patching the leak is a short-term fix, but a patch will not last if the foundation remains unstable.
